Plumbers dry up against town

Burston- Keeley shows his class on a cold afternoon in Coventry
We arrived at Coventry Sporting Ground for a game against Coventry Plumbing which in our eyes was a MUST win.
We were unable to warm up until 1.20pm due to there been a girls game on and the facilities only had space to warm up behind the goal.
This hampered both teams starts in all honesty and when the game got underway there wasn’t much to talk about for 30 minutes.
The first talking point was a through ball from Reece Hewitt which allowed Callum Debar to run onto, unfortunately Callum twisted his knee making the run and it led us into making an early change .
Magee replaced Debar who’s first involvement was following up a Billy Fagg effort. Magees rebound put us 1-0 up.
Keeley and Hewitt both had strikes after that didn’t test the Cov Plumbing keeper.
Hewitt then saw a header go narrowly wide.
The Plumbers started a move which saw a foul by Pattison some how was played advantage by the referee catching all players off guard. The Cov Plumbing 11 ran into the box and was said to have been tripped by Carter. The lad admitted he wasn’t touched but the ref pointed to the spot.
However I think the decision levelled itself out because we could have been going into half time with 10 men.
Cov Plumbing equalised from the resulting penalty.
Second half was a half dominated in large spells by Alcester. Some spectators remarking on how good some of the football we were playing was to watch.
We found ourselves going ahead through a Dan Carter penalty after he was fouled early in the half.
We struck again through a DC glancing header which made it 3-1.
Chances after chances were being created by us and it wasn’t long before Magee linked up with Dan Carter and swivelled his man in the box making it 4-1 Alcester.
We then went to sleep in all honesty which is the second week in a row now and The Plumbers pulled two quick fire goals back making it 4-3.
Eventually we came out of the 10 minute flat spot and Hewitt found Keeley with a through ball who slotted for us to put the tie to bed.
FT Cov Plumbing 3-5 Alcester Town
I thought we was in control for large parts of the game and punished them at most oppurtunities. I gave 4 lads there debuts Saturday so with a longer period of time to gel I can see us being a real force in this league!
Credit to Coventry Plumbing they have a good bunch of lads and I can see them doing well this year.
3 points was crucial and 3 points is what we got and for me it puts us right back in the mix going into the Christmas period!
