Town took on Birmingham Tigers looking to make amends for last week’s unacceptable performance. Town tried to take advantage of the strong wind in the first half by kicking with the wind behind them. The game started very scrappy with both sides conceding possession easily and a lot of sloppy play. Fortunately one moment of quality did come after approximately 15 minutes into the game, when Priest played a ball from just inside to the oppositions half on to Callum Keeley’s right foot which he did well to convert. The game continued to be scrappy with no real chances of note, we went in at half time 1.0 up.
In the second half Birmingham Tigers took advantage of the wind and looked most likely to score, putting a number of dangerous balls into the Town box including Tigers having a chance cleared off the line by Matt Chambers.
After a slight reshuffle Town had a rare spell in the opposition half when Luke Dugmore got fouled in the opposition penalty area, up stepped Priest to convert 2.0. The momentum of the game seemed to change with town converting another two chances through Callum Keeley and Luke Dugmore. Keogh then converted a late chance, with the only downside to the performance being a red card for left back Josh Cullen.
